The loan period for library items varies and depends on the type of material:

  • Reserve items are available for short periods of time, normally 2 hours.
  • Journals older than 5 years have a 7 day checkout period and cannot be renewed.
  • Multimedia items have a 14 day checkout period and can be renewed until you reach the 42 day limit.
  • Books have a 28 day checkout period and can be renewed until you reach the 3 month limit.

Reference books, special collections, and recent journals cannot be checked out. These materials are available for use only in the Library.

To renew a checked out item, log into Your Library Account or call the Library Service Desk at (503) 494-3460.
